Description Of ItemClipped article by an unnamed author from the Scotsman in a scrapbook from the collection of John Ritchie relating to the alleged healing powers of ‘the relics of ‘The Maid’’, which were a series of letters written by the eponymous maid and held in the possession of Count de Maleissye of the Chateau d’Hautville who was descended from Joan of Arc’s brother Jacques du Lys. The first instance concerned a case of peritonitis in the Count’s father’s first cousin, and the second a case of sickness in Mademoiselle d’Humefres.
