Description Of ItemCollection of pasted press cuttings relating to homicide caused by delusions, hallucinations, and superstitions. The first press cutting, from the Glasgow Herald, describes the attempted murder of a woman by a man who believed he had been bewitched by the victim. The second press cutting, from the Glasgow Herald, describes another instance of murder of a man and his wife in India due to the accused believing he was the victim of witchcraft. The third press cutting, from an unknown source, describes the attempted murder of a girl by her uncle, who suffered from fits of insanity and depression. The fourth press cutting, from an unknown source, describes the sacrificial murder of a 7-year-old boy by his father, who was part of a sect referred to as the ‘sect of the Savior.’ The fifth press cutting, untitled and from an unknown source, describes multiple nonsensical telegrams sent by Stephen Forwood, who was accused of murdering three of his children, his wife, and his girlfriend.
