Description Of ItemClipped article from the Scotsman in a scrapbook from the collection of John Ritchie relating to Major F.G. Jackson’s expedition across Africa – from Portuguese East Africa (present day Mozambique), Rhodesia (present day Zambia), ‘Urundi and Uranda’ (present day Burundi and Rwanda) to present day DR Congo – with Mr Henry Bolton Graham Eyres-Monsell. The use of poisons – powdered lung tissue from a person deceased from tuberculosis by the Tutsi ethnic group, and a poisonous vine vegetable by the Pygmy ethnic group – is specifically remarked upon for further research.
