The article discusses Dr. Letitia Fairfield’s letter to the Times in response to Dr George Henry Alexander Clowes’ letter as seen in DEP/RIJ/8/43, the former of which quotes an account of another of Harvey’s investigation into sorcery as told in a letter quoted in Professor Wallace Notestein’s book, A History of Witchcraft in England.
