| Description Of Item | Two clipped excerpts from the British Medical Journal in a scrapbook from the collection of John Ritchie, relating to Dr Samuel Dodd Clippingdale’s comments and corrections on two journal articles. The first is a comment on the ‘Literary Notes’ section in the 4 April 1914 on a paper by Major Harry Arthur Leonard Howell in the Journal of the Royal Army Medical Corps, on the improper titling of John Ranby. The second is a correction on the omission of John Caius’ doctor’s coat of arms, and includes a description of the coat from Bernard Burke’s book: The General Armory of England, Scotland, Ireland and Wales, Comprising a Registry of Armorial Bearings from the Earliest to the Present Time. |
