The prescriptions for each condition are mostly printed and pasted into the volume although Kinnier Wilson has also written some. Includes a notice from the Local government Board on instructions for the treatment of syphilis under 'N'. A note with the volume by a previous curator indicates that he may have used the volume in his private practice.
After the alphabetical section are other notices: instructions for administering mercurial inunctions; routine course for ordinary fresh cases of syphilis; short note on the interpretation of the Wassermann reaction; dietary sheets; handwritten lists of male nurses and companions, nurses for 'backward' children, homes for backward and mental defectives, homes for incurables, children's homes, houses for the dying, London and country nursing homes, female nerve and mental nurses, nursing cooperatives, masseurs and masseuses, massage and electrical establishments, tutors for stammering, paying guests with nursing, convalescent homes; and a printed list of institutions for the relief cure and care of persons suffering from paralysis, epilepsy and other nervous diseases and for incurable, imbecile and feeble-minded persons published by the National Hospital, c1919.
Loose at the front of the volume are handwritten diet sheets for diabetic patients and a card with notes on the volume's contents. |
