Description Of ItemNotes by Thomas Laycock about special spinal neuralgia. Headaches are also discussed, focusing primarily on the frontal area. Causes and treatment are described, along with a list of symptoms that seem to come directly from a patient. The causes, symptoms and treatment for sciatic neuralgia are also detailed. There is a page quoting a journal article about Emil du Bois-Reymond’s experience with having headaches which was part of a paper read to the Society of Natural History of Berlin on 1 March 1859. A report by Robert Nelson about cerebrospinal fever published in the British Medical Journal on 18 March 1876 is also quoted. Robert Lee‘s work on the anatomy of the uterine nerves is mentioned. There are pencil additions above the ink writing, clarifying spelling and improving the transition of ideas, and there are further notes on the backs of some pages. One page is dated 28 February 1856.
