| Description Of Item | There appears to have been one principal series of notebooks (MAB/2/2) which Morison had initially labelled I-XXXIII with subsequent volumes in the series following chronologically. There are gaps in the series 1887-1890 and 1890-1892 which are filled by items in MAB/2/3 and MAB/2/7-8. The other journals have been given separate entries as they do not closely relate to each other either chronologically or by format.
The notebook at MAB/3/2/6/14 appears to be a partial index to volumes I-XXIII.
Although all the volumes have dated entries to differing extents, not all of them can properly be termed diaries as Blackhall-Morison does not always chronicle daily events. The distinction between personal and non-personal volumes is reflected in the category field by the use of notebooks or diaries as a descriptor. |
