| Description | Munro was born 25 June 1933 and graduated MB from the University of Edinburgh in 1960. He became a member of the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh in 1963 and a fellow in 1971. He went on to become a fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow in 1996 and of the Royal College of Physicians of London in 1997. He was Registrar at the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh and was Senior Registrar at the Royal Infirmary, Edinburgh.
