Bequeathed in 1924 by Miss Agnes Bruce, granddaughter of Dr John Abercrombie, Fellow 1823/44. Originally presented to Dr Abercrombie in 1831 by Sir Archibald Allison, the historian and his brother Professor William Pulteney Allison, President 1836/38 and engraved ’in testimony of warm and respectful gratitude for the generous exertions of his professional skill and the unwearied exercise of his personal kindness’.
