Description Of ItemThis bottle is empty.

Probably Puluerem Ipepacuanha cum Opium Ipecac, or ipecacuanha, is the dried root of a plant originating in the Americas. In this medicinal chest, it is listed as ‘pu’, shorthand for puluerem, meaning powdered. It was used to induce vomiting and is no longer used because it is poisonous to humans.

Usually prescribed for its sedative properties, opium in this case was probably combined with ipecac to alleviate pain.
