| Description Of Item | Sir John Batty Tuke was president of the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh between 1895 and 1898. His work in neuroscience as a psychiatrist advanced physiological understanding for mental diseases and treatments. In 1894, he was appointed to the Morison Lectureship at the college, and in 1898 he was knighted.
