| Description Of Item | Dr John Playfair was president of the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh between June and December in 1908. He was a consulting physician to the Royal Hospital for Sick Children.
The image is a black and white albumen print seated portrait of Dr John Playfair, taken by the studio of [John] Moffat, Edinburgh (most likely by his son Frank Pelham Moffat who ran the business following his father’s death in 1894), to commemorate his term.
