Description Of ItemColour illustration of a breast with tumour. Notes on reverse summarise the case and treatment over five years, the removal of a tumour with the ‘character of an Hydatid Mamma’ and was found to ‘consist of one cyst filled with greenish glary fluid.’ In the centre of the cyst, there was a ‘granular body which seemed to be the only remains of the gland of the mamma.’ The patient is noted to have done well, and surgery occurred at the Royal Infirmary [of Edinburgh]. An additional note included ‘See preparation in Museum of College of Surgeons’ [Surgeon’s Hall Museum]
