| Description Of Item | Crantz became a lecturer in obstetrics at St. Mary's Hospital, Vienna in 1754 and from 1756 to 1774, he taught physiology and medicine at the university. The notes are from his book 'Commentatio de instrumentorum in arte obstetricia historia utilitate et recta ac praepostera applicatione' which he published in 1757 and mention various doctors and the instruments they used. These doctors include Moschion, Hippocrates, Avicenna [Abu Ali al-Husayn ibn Abd Allah ibn Sina], Albucasis [Abu al-Qasim Khalaf ibn al-Abbas Al-Zahraw] and Paré. |
