Description Of ItemCopy of a recipe found in A Rich Store-House or Treasury for the Diseased, sixth edition, printed by Ralph Blower in 1616, London. Fol, 46.
Ingredients listed in the recipe are: ‘case ginger’, ‘elicompanaerootes’ [elecampane roots], ‘sugarcandy’, liquorice, anise seed.
It instructs to beat everything into fine powders before mixing them, then eat a spoonful before going to bed and another in the morning ‘fasting’.
