| Description Of Item | From the collection of John Boswell.
At the front of the volume approximately a quarter of the pages are dedicated to lecture notes of Herman Booerhaave. These are followed by the Consilium of Boerhaave, which appears to be a general list of recommendations for preserving health and a list of recommended treatments. Separately from this, towards the centre of the volume, are two transcribed documents, one a letter from James Douglas (surgeon tot he 66th regiment) dated 1762 and the other a Latin document headed with the names David Clerk and Gerard van Swieten. |
