Description | Marjorie Chapman was the younger daughter of Florence Gertrude Bent and John George Chapman. During the First World War she worked as an orderly at the Scottish Women's Hospital at Royaumont. At the outbreak of the Second World War she was working as a section leader of the Suffolk/50 Women's Red Cross VAD and was working full time at the White Lodge Emergency Hospital in Newmarket. She died of meningitis in December 1940. It should be noted that the staff ledger gives the date of death as 1943 also at Newmarket which may be an error.
