| Description Of Item | This section contains Cullen's correspondence. The outgoing letters were bound in volumes by date and with indexes by correspondent and condition. The incoming consultation correspondence was loose and arranged by date in boxes. A cross-reference on the back of each incoming letter referred to the volume and page number of Cullen's response although these have not been checked for accuracy. There are also three boxes of professional correspondence with other doctors and scientists. These were not cross-referred to responses but were indexed at a later date, possibly in the 19th century.
