Description Of Item | The volume consists of a number of sections. In the first section (possibly not all in Cullen's writing) the headings are: 'Atonics', 'Mennorrhagia','Fluor Albus', 'Abortus', 'Amenorrhea', 'Catarrhus', 'Dystenteria'. The second section is on various treatments which include blistering, Peruvian bark, stimulants etc. The third section is headed 'Of Fevers' but may not be entirely on that subject and includes the date 3rd January 1772.The fourth section is incomplete and appears to be about the physiology of muscles and fibres. After this there are what may be proofs of the printed contents pages from the 'Institutions of Medicine' with page number annotations. In amongst these are notes which may be for the sections of the book listed. At the rear of the volume are pages in Latin which have numbered sections I-XXXII and may therefore be a lecture plan. Described in the original manuscript catalogue as 'in his own hand'. |
