Description | Dewar graduated MB, CM from Edinburgh University in 1884 and MD in 1888. Also in 1888 he was made a fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh. After initially working at the Hospital for Consumptives in Dunblane he moved to the Metropolitan Hospital, London, later returning to Edinburgh to work at the Royal Public Dispensary. He was also a lecturer on anatomy at the Extra-Mural School. He wrote a number of articles on tuberculosis and phthisis. [Source: Medical Dictionary]
