| Description Of Item | This section contains volumes of 'Practical Observations in Medicine' by Andrew Duncan. All the volumes originally had the title 'Practical Observations' on the spine, although in many cases the label has become detached. Any additional title inside the volume has been given in the description. The volumes consist of patient case notes which give the patient's name and case details. The first two volumes are divided into lectures but this is not continued from volume 3. Volumes are indexed unless indicated otherwise. The first nine volumes are not dated.
This series of volumes of case notes relate to Duncan's private practice (predominantly 1774-1776), the Edinburgh Public Dispensary (1776-early twentieth century) and the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh (1790-1816). |
