Description Of Item | From the collection of Alexander Hamilton. He writes that Hamilton's memorial was passed to Marchal MacDonald, High Chancellor of the Legion d'Honneur, from him to Prince Polignac and from him to the Minister of Foreign Affairs to whom any further correspondence should be sent. He humbly declines Hamilton's offer to be admitted to various scientific societies but thanks him for the diploma of the Antiquarian Society. He encloses an old letter from the Duc de Mouchy, dated 29th April, who writes that he has put Hamilton's requests to the King. |
