| Description Of Item | The book is titled 'Notebook for Clinical Surgery with Method of Casetaking and Index of Surgical Diseases'. It has a printed title page, advice on the method of case-taking and a classification of surgical diseases with page numbers left blank for students to compete as an index. It was printed in Edinburgh in 1903. The volume is signed on the flyleaf by A Fergus Hewat. The case notes give the patient's name, age, address, date of admission and discharge, diagnosis, complaint and history of present illness. Loose at p187 are a list of surgical procedures and two sets of printed duplicate sheets for Dr R W Philip's class of practice of medicine, one giving the order of description in skin disease and types of skin eruption and the other classification of skin diseases. |
