| Description Of Item | This section contains letters to Francis Home. They had been included in a folder of correspondence in the collection of James Hamilton the younger. As there was no indication that any of the items had belonged to Hamilton the folder was divided into its constituent parts. These letters are all on the subject of bleaching and the two that are dated are from 1756, the same year Home wrote 'Experiments in Bleaching' which is referred to in HOF/6/1. Although the letters do not mention Home. It was decided to include them in this collection. |
