Description Of Item | Addressed to William Hamilton. He writes that he has finished his essay, that the chemical analyses were the hardest part and that he has disproved Dr Saunders 'in some very especial particulars'. He writes that Dr Gregory is prescribing red bark in every case he can with great success. A Mr Rigley has published a book on 200 cases in and about Norwich where the bark was used and never failed. He asks for the return of a paper so he can pass it to Lady Maxwell. He hopes to set up in business with Dr Stirling in Stirling and to that end wants to be a member of the 'new Royal Society'. He hopes to submit a paper soon but as he is not in agreement with Dr Monro he fears 'a little of his unmannerly criticism'. Transcript available. |
