| Description Of Item | The photographs are mounted on paper and have figure numbers (2-3, 5-12) with handwritten captions. The reverse of each sheet is stamped 'Journal of Neurology and Psychopathology' and annotated with the name L van Bogaert. The samples show: haemorrhagic infiltration of the cortex; paravascular necrosis; paracapillary haemorrhage; intracranial ischaemic necrosis; lipopigmentary infiltration; and perivascular demyelinisation (not all captions legible). The captions are followed by the names Nissl, Bielschowsky or Loyez. The photographs were originally wrapped in paper stamped with the name and address of Dr A Ninian Bruce. It is now known how the pages were used by the Journal. |
