| Description Of Item | Article from the Medical and Surgical Practice section of the Medical Times and Gazette, detailing a case of ‘unilateral anaesthesiae’ in a 62-yar-old man known as WB, under the care of Dr Edward B Gray at Radcliffe Infirmary, Oxford. Patient experienced sudden-onset paralysis of right hand, foot, and side of face, with no other cerebral symptoms or known illnesses. Dr Gray discovered hypertrophy of the patient’s heart, and aortic and mitral valve diseases. Embolism is concluded to be the likely cause of paralysis. Author unknown.
