| Description Of Item | Two letters written to Thomas Laycock from William Standing, an officer of the Ireland [illegible] living in Stirling. The letter dated April 7, 1866, describes the symptoms of his son who had contracted rabies from a dog bite. In the letter dated 21 April 1866, Standing now feared that his wife and daughter were infected too. At the bottom of the final letter, Laycock added a note dated July 1868 that he visited Standing. |
