Description Of ItemFrom the collection of Thomas Laycock. Article discussing the diagnosis of 47-year-old patient Jane Quinn, who was admitted to Mater Misericordiae Hospital on 17 March 1866 and died 24 March 1866. Her symptoms included paralysis of the right side of the body, loss of speech and weakened pulse. At the end of the article, it is stated that she also had pulmonary apoplexy. There is also an article titled ‘Case of Fracture of the Neck of the Femur – Death on the Fourth Day by Fatty Heart’, one titled ‘Case of Erysipelas of Head, Neck, Chest and Abdomen’ and one titled ‘Ergot of the Diss’.
