Description Of ItemThe illustration depicts the back of the skull in shades of pink, with arteries branching up either side. Below this, in the centre, is the top of the spine in shades of red and blue. Thin off-white lines curve away from either side of it, forming curved wedges.

The illustration is labelled in ink with letters. There are dash lines in pencil forming a rectangle which intersects the skull, and a smaller rectangle inside this in solid pencil. This area is the section which corresponds to the plate.

At the bottom of the illustration, there is some writing in pencil, which is partially cut off. The visible portion says ‘[I] cut off as indicated by the black [bead] lines forming a’.
