Date19 Nov 1830-28 Apr 1831
Description Of ItemAddressed to Richard Poole - he has read a work by Mr Wright who thinks the act relating to Friendly Societies defective and asks Poole to read it before deciding whether the Institution should take advantage of the Act, 19th November. Addressed to Dr Moncrieff - he writes that he has to be away on business and James Crighton will collect the premiums in his absence and what to do about David Morris of Colchester who has not answered any letters since being made agent, 19th November; and notifies the Directors on his efforts to reduce the balance he owes the Institution, 21st March. Addressed to James Crighton - he explains that he has not kept the Institution's accounts very well by not keeping the Institution's funds separate from his own and that he is not able to pay the balance due to the Institution, 7th December.
