| Description Of Item | Francis Bacon's work, written in 1623, was translated in 1650 by Dr William Rowley, one of His Majesty's Chaplains. The volumes are a typescript of the first four articles from that translation with an introduction and notes by James Mulligan KC. Mulligan has made a number of minor corrections to the text. The volumes were originally part of the library collection. |
