Includes letter from G Y Leslie, Banffshire Prison Board, on points of procedure under the Prisons Act regarding an insane prisoner, 11th July 1840; letter from W A F Browne, Crichton Institution, on the situation with the staff of the Montrose Asylum as reported by Poole, 25th June 1842; letters from Robert Burness and James Lambert, summoning Poole as a witness in a case between the Glasgow Asylum and the Edinburgh and Glasgow Railway Co, 10th October 1839; letter from G Gordon enclosing an extract from the minutes of the Infirmary Committee on the care of the Infirmary, 5th June 1839; copy of a letter by Poole on the post of matron, 31st August 1841; and correspondence between Poole and James Leighton on the misunderstanding between Poole and the matron, Poole's continued employment, the division of staff between the Asylum and the Infirmary and Poole's resignation 14th June 1842-10th June 1845.
