| Description | Ross studied medicine at Edinburgh University graduating with an MB in 1958. He then studied for his DPM in London which he gained in 1965 going on to practise psychiatric medicine at Charing Cross Hospital. He became a member of the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh in 1967 and a fellow in 1996. He returned to Scotland to look after his parents and entered general practice in Dunfermline. He retired to St Andrews.
