Description Of ItemNotes on ‘spirit’ of wine, as ‘the truest of all cordialles’, which preserves ‘the body from putrefaction’ and is good for cough, rheumatisms, bleeding, and ‘every cold pression of nature’ ulcers, and wounds. It helps the stomach and appetite. Recipe for those that are hard of hearing includes a few drops of wine in the ear. Recipe for preserving health includes 40 or 50 drops taken in the morning and night, it ‘defends the body from infectious air’.
