After that are pages by division which give: the population of the division; the population per practice; the number of doctors in each class - consultant, whole time officer, non-panel, dentist, retired, home address, part time and panel; and further categorisation into: Awt (a whole time) Ba (applied by 15th May 1915) CR (credit of division as at 15th May 1915 Awt+Ba) RO (residual obligation=number of panel practitioners to be added to CR (panel) to make up total draft) Bp (applied after 15th May 1915) Ct (total call - number of panel practitioners as at 1st July1915 to be added to Bp (panel) to make up RO together with call on TNP, Bp+Ct=RO) PN (preliminary notice=Ct) C1 (first call on division - not differentiated) R1 (response to first call) C2 (second call), R2 (response to second call), C3 (third call) and R3 (response to third call).

Also included is correspondence concerning the application for military service by Dr Downs of Motherwell [Scotland] who was refusing to allow his younger partner to enlist in the hope that he could be sent to Egypt for the good of his health. |
