| Description Of Item | The records within this series form the administrative foundation to the primary tasks of the Committee - gathering information on doctors and ensuring the continuation of civilian practices. Each subseries consists of forms used for different parts of these processes and across the whole period of the Committee's activities. Not all the forms were issued by the Scottish Medical Service Emergency Committee. Some were issued by government departments and were presumably sent to the Committee as part of its functions, for example where statutory claims were referred to it by Local Tribunals. It seemed an artificial distinction to create separate series according to origin, so the forms have been arranged chronologically within the series, with the creator of the records indicated for each subseries. |
