| Description Of Item | This arrangement of the photographs into folders was carried out during the previous cataloguing. A circled number written in pencil on the reverse of the photograph will probably correspond to a caption at SMS/5/12. It is not known whether Smith originally arranged them in the order of the caption numbers. Some of the images appear in his book 'Mostly Murder' and he may have used others in articles.
The majority of these photographs relate to Smith's time in Egypt. There are other photographs relating to specific Egyptian cases at SMS/4/67, 129 and 135. A number of the subject (SMS/2) and case files (SMS/3) also contain photographs as do the biographical files (SMS/6). |
