| Description Of Item | From the collection of Alexander Watson. These were originally kept in four wooden-backed wrappings addressed to 'Dr Wemyss, Broughty Ferry' from the New Sydenham Society. Each label gave the volume number, year and the list of illustrations contained with are described as life-size. The four folders were labelled Tenth, Eleventh, Fourteenth and Fifteenth Fasciculus. The plates for the twelfth and thirteenth may have been added to the eleventh as only plates XXX-XXXII were listed on the label. For some items the caption on the illustration differs from the label and this is indicated in each entry. They were printed by W West chromo-lithographer, Hatton Garden, London. |
