Description Of Item | The Watching Committee (NHS) was established after it was observed by the President of the College, Dr Murray Lyon, at the Quarterly Meeting of the College in November 1946 that 'no request for help had been received from the authorities in connection with the National Health Service Bill for Scotland.' A College Committee to 'watch the progress and study the Bill for Scotland' was duly appointed and consisted of Drs Charles McNeil (Chairman), W D D Small, Thomas Ferguson, D K Henderson, James G M Hamilton, J L Cowan, A W Stewart, and W S Clark.
The papers include copies of the memoranda produced by the previous committee appointed to consider the white paper, and some correspondence, but no minutes. |
