Description Of ItemReport detailing events and actions of the College concerning objections to a clause in the Bill which required certificates of lunacy to be obtained from medical practitioners before a patient could be admitted to an asylum. The College petitioned the House of Lords for insertion of a clause which would protect medical practitioners from legal prosecution by patients, but was ultimately unsuccessful. Includes a printed copy of the petition and a memorandum from the College outlining the legal case for objections to the Bill.
