| Description Of Item | During the College's search for an appropriate home for the Laboratory, after their lease on 7 Lauriston Lane ran out, 6 Archibald Place was considered. An option to purchase was obtained by the College, the purchase, however, was contingent on the Dean of Guild Court authorising the alterations required for its conversion into a laboratory. The Superior of the property objected to the proposals, and, though defeated in the Dean of Guild Court and the Court of Session, intimated an appeal to the House of Lords.
