Description Of Item | After the death of Lord Lister in 1912 the Royal College of Physicians and the Royal College of Surgeons decided upon a suitable memorial which was to be the establishment of The Edinburgh Lister Institute of Psychology. The purpose of this institute was to be teaching and research, and the existing laboratory was to be subsumed into it. The scheme was never put into practice however, and was eventually abandoned.
