| Description Of Item | This project was undertaken as part of a collaboration between the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh and the Scottish Government to examine the delivery of unscheduled care nationally. The main component of this work was a description of the service configuration of each acute medical unit in Scotland with regard to patient flow, unit activity, physical capacity and workforce constitution. This information was collected by a two day site visit to each of the units to undertake observation and interviews.
