DescriptionMargaret Campbell was a PhD student at the University of Edinburgh School of Art and studied the relationships between illnesses like tuberculosis and the architectural design of sanatoria and asylums and how modern design as a whole was affected. Her thesis was called Architecture of Hope: Tuberculosis: a Design Response, 1999 and other publications include What Tuberculosis did for Modernism: The Influence of a Curative Environment on Modernist Design and Architecture, 2005.
