DescriptionPossibly the same David Clerk who was elected by the managers as physician-in-ordinary to the Royal Infirmary, along with Colin Drummond, in January 1751. He received a salary of £30 which replaced the old system whereby fellows of the Royal College of Physicians took it in turn to attend the Infirmary for a month. David Clerk was also secretary of the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh 1752-1756.
