Description Of ItemThe title and date of the volume come on the last page of text, page 585. After the preface is a list of authors or sources which have been consulted in the writing of the book; a list of 'pondera veterum' (old weights); and a list of the instruments and operations needed for pharmaceutical work. There are then descriptions of five classes: the first class (from p17), further divided into 'Ordo prima Suaveolentia', 'Ordo Secundus Graveolentia' and 'Ordo Tertius Virosa'; the second class (from p20) titled 'Sapida'; the third class (from p37) titled 'Visceralia seu Splanicha sive Appropriata vel specifica'; and the fourth class (from p39) titled 'Topica seu Medicamenta Chirurgica'. The handwriting changes in several places and the specimen numbers are not in order particularly after p230 when numbers over 500 appear out of sequence.
