Description Of ItemThe volume consists of a course of lectures delivered at the Royal Hospital of Lying-In Women at Copenhagen in 1766. Berger (1724-1789) was Professor in Surgery and Midwifery at the Royal University, Copenhagen and Professor of Anatomy at the Royal Academy of Painting. He also acted as man-midwife at the Royal Hospital of Lying-In Women in Copenhagen and court physician. It is not known who copied the volume or when John William Ballantyne acquired it.
