Delassize wrote the first account of her case 25th May 1783 but amended it on 25th June 1784 and subsequently. Dow travelled with M Delassize to Bordeaux, France and was concerned at the lack of expertise of the doctors in Paris, France that his friend had seen. Dow, who was once a student of Cullen's, had been a doctor in Louisana, United States of America but had not treated the case as her father had his own method. Dow goes on to describe methods popular with the French and Spanish. |
